These days I have to wake up early,at 8 am. This new lifestyle had its birth since 16th of last month. Driving classes is the culprit..Cursing this early schedule I looked at the calender. Its May 19, thursday - the day I have the test for getting learner's licence. What a crap is that.... Licence for learning?? Or is it a permission to hit anyone or anything while we drive? Whatever it may be I have to get it to continue my classes. Having such ridiculous thoughts in mind I left my home at around 9.
I reached Pongmudu Sree Jyothi driving school at around 9.15am. There I had to put at least 8 signatures in as many columns.. I have done it as if I was writing as imposition - without any sense. There were 5 more students having test that day. One of them Sandeep has got a bike. Master asked me to go with him. There are situations in life when you act without much thinking....
While Sandeep started the bike I asked catually,
'Got the licence na?'
So we started for RT office Kazhakuttom.. But unfortunately our hopes ended within 5 seconds..
Sitting behind him a noticed a red car trying to overtake us. In a nanosecond it hit somewhere in the handle of our bike and we lost balance; leaned towards right, and we both were on the road. There are times when you are scared a lot, you scream; and there are times when you are so beyond scared, you freeze.. This time I did freeze even under sunshine. What has happened ? At this point Rancho ( in 3 Idiots) might say "All izz Well' 'All izz Well".,...but actually I was telling... "I'm alive" , "I'm alive"... I tried to get up as people ran and encircled us. I saw my leg was completely under the bike.. I asked someone to lift it up. Trying to stand I found my right hand and right leg were injured.. But the pain is bearable. 'So no fractures'.... thinking of the fact that people say fracture has unbearable pain..Sandeep had also minor injuries..
Someone gave me a glass of water.. At times when you desperately needed water you cannot ask for boiled and purified water.. For the first time I felt water was tasty.. Meanwhile a similar model, similar colour car stopped in front of us and a man around 50 years age offered us to take to the the hospital.. Going to the hospital in an AC car was better than going in an ambulance.. The nearest hospital was one SUT hospital in Kochulloor.. So he drove us towards that.. Sandeep kept on telling that it was the first time he had an accident.. I kept on complaining myself to have chosen to go by bike.. We might have felt that complaining about the past must be better than looking at the wounds.. Neither of them will have any effect on us though..
Car stopped in front of the casualty.. We stepped out... A lady around 30 years of age came to us..
'What happened?'
'Bike,...bike accident'
'Sorry we won't take any accident cases.'..,,,...... as if we reached a temple.
'Wha..aat?'
'you have to go to other hospital.'
'So what the hell are you doing with this hospital?'
'we have no option.'
We gave her a weird look..;then left the place immediately..
The 'driver' went after dropping us at Medical College.. I noticed a scar on the left side of the car and he had asked us whether we remember who hit us.. These made me sure that it was he who was the culprit... But filing a case or doing anything against him won't help us either.. So we left him with a "Thank You Sir" in as polite way as we could.. Suddenly I thought of my sister... I called her and she came in 10 minutes.. Her presence helped us from not waiting at the queue and got the necessary treatments comfortably..
She brought me home and then was the scolding session.. Starting with a 15 min scolding from mom for getting into a bike accident. then came a 20 min scolding from dad.. That continued for the whole day.. It was another unforgettable day.. But this one prevented me form any sort of writing for 10 days!
